This weekend was full of fun, for two very important reasons. This little boy.
And this fabulous group of ladies. (Katherine, I hope it’s OK that I stole your picture!)
Friday our four month old nephew spent the night—and it was fun! Don’t get me wrong, it was exhausting, but so amazing, plus, he has a new favorite song. Baby Got Back. #1 Aunt right here! He’s so bright and happy—except when he wakes up in the middle of the night hungry. Believe me, you best have a bottle ready to go for this little guy. We also had the misery, bad luck, joy of experiencing a very mushy poopy diaper. The Mister actually helped—he kept the baby from kicking his feet into the poo. I never realized how many nooks and crannies boy bits have. Good gravy, that poo was everywhere!! We had a great time with him though, and the Mister is ready for him to come back. Win!!
Saturday was the Eclpise GTG in Raleigh—YAY! I had planned on picking up Jenny around 9:30, but at 6:30 she sent me the most glorious email asking if I could pick her up at noon. Score! I was tired from the nephew, so I enjoyed that extra sleep! Jenny—thanks for having pregnancy rhinitis so I could get a few extra ZZZ’s! Anyway, I got to Jenny’s around noon, and we were on our way! We arrived at Beth Anne’s a few hours later and the fun started! Y’all, Harrison is about the cutest baby on the planet! That hair, that tongue, those eyes, that fluffy butt—epically cute. He gets his good looks from his momma I think.
Anyway, we met up for dinner with Katherine, Caroline, Beth, Emilee, Sarah and Kathleen. I feel bad for the other folks around us, because we were loud. But, oh the fun!! We talked and laughed and talked and laughed until it was time for our Edward/Jacob fix—depending on what team you are on. I’d give the movie a B, but the company an A+. It was an excellent girls night indeed…just what I needed.
Sunday, we woke up to the news that Harrison had taken steps!! Unfortunately he didn’t want to show off for Jenny and me, but he sure did ham it up for us. Crawling all over the place. Making flirty eyes at us. Standing up. Drooling. FUN! Beth Anne, Jenny and I went to breakfast at Krispy Kreme—hot, fresh, now donuts. Delicious! Then it was time to hit the road and get Jenny home to sleep off her illness. We had great conversation both driving up and back. Being that we are both from the great state of Ohio, we both agree that Ohio is the one and only birthplace of aviation, and North Carolina should have no claim whatsoever. Also, Ohio people?? We have a question for you. What is the obsession with Myrtle Beach?? I mean it’s fun and all, I suppose, but you should really check out some other beaches. Go to Charleston—Isle of Palms, Sullivan’s Island and Folly Beach are not far—plus Charleston is awesome. I’d like to also recommend Wrightsville Beach and Ocean Isle. Both fabulous. Broaden your horizons fellow Ohioans!!
So there you have it. A long post, with 2 pictures. We all realized that there was only one picture. And you know what—I kind of like it that way. Sometimes you have to live in the moment, instead of observing and capturing it on film.
Can’t wait to see you all again!!

I had so much fun with y'all!!! Can't wait to get together again soon!
Glad you had such a good weekend! Hope to catch up with you next time I'm in Charlotte!
That would be awesome Suz!!
Hey girl, your nephew is a super cutie, I just love that picture of him. I just want to pinch his cheeks! I wish I lived closer to ya'll so I could have gone to the Eclipse movie with you, it looked like you had such a blast!!!
In answer to your question, what is there NOT to love about Myrtle Beach? It's the atmosphere, the shopping, the golf, the 8000 restaurants. I guess there just isn't one thing, it's the whole package. My inlaws own a condo down there and we have been going there for ten years. I have been to Charleston several times with friends and family. It's gorgeous. It's also a quick drive down from Myrtle Beach so it's nice that it's there to visit.
Glad to hear you had so much fun with the girls! BTW, I bought the Aveda Smooth Infusion. Love it!
Karen
I wish you lived closer too! Seriously?? Move to NC–Myrtle's only 4 hours from here.

I'm not saying Myrtle is bad, it's just that it seems that everyone from Ohio goes there, and there are so many other good beaches. If you have a free place to stay?? Go and enjoy.
Smooth Infusion is a life saver!!
awww, what a great picture of all of you. How lovely that you all get to hang out!
The wright brothers would have flown in Ohio if it were so great there. First In Flight forever!
JP–You are wrong. OHIO rules flight.
